“The Day The Music Died”

PosterA half-century ago a plane went down in Iowa killing three great musicians. February 3, 1959 was the infamous day that Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and the Big Bopper were killed.

I’m sure time stopped for a moment when the news hit the airwaves.

Holly, Valens and the Bopper were on the “The Winter Dance Party Tour” when Holly chartered the plane to their next gig. Holly chartered the plane because their tour bus was in poor shape and miserably cold.

These young rockers were changing the face of music when they died. However their songs and sounds are just as amazing today. Nobody knows what would have come from these great artists. They certainly lived and died the rock ‘n’ roll life.
