“The Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin dead at 44

Steve IrwinToday we morn the loss of a great individual who dedicated his life to the animal world. At time the controversial individual made headlines for the wrong reasons but his work to educate the world can not simply be overlooked.

Steve Irwin had brought animal education to new level. Kids and adults had no idea they were actually learning as the looked into the box. The truly larger than life Irwin made learning fun and entertaining.

Steve Irwin was killed today in Australia filming a show about deadly marine animals. He was stung in the chest by a stingray while snorkeling.

Irwin is survived by his wife Terri and their two children, Bindi Sue, and Robert.

Steve Irwin was an entertainer, educator, and conservationist. His one true mission to education the public on the animals plight was his driving force. Irwin was well known for saving and relocating crocodiles; however his outreach was far and wide in the animal kingdom.

I am not sure if there will ever be another Steve Irwin. Not since the likes of Jack Hanna have we been inspired to learn about the animal kingdom. Even Hanna pales in comparison to the charisma that Irwin brought the the screen.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Irwin family. Irwin will truly be missed.
