On October 8th we official began the adoption of “Albert” the quaker parrot. I met Albert by chance with a routine visit to my vet. I was taking Buddy in for some shots and discovered Albert in the waiting room. I have always been drawn to birds and he sang to me the moment I walked in the door.
When I ventured over to say hello to Albert in the waiting room I noticed he had an adoption flyer posted on his cage. Let’s just say it was love at first squawk. I had never come across a quaker parrot before. He is one cute little devil. I told my wife we were adopting Albert as soon as I got home from the vet. I think she knew immediately that I was serious!
Needless to say- Albert is ‘home’ with us now. We are fostering Albert for a trial period based on the fosters procedures until we are officially approved to adopt him.
Albert loves to be cuddled and is very vocal. I am absolutely amazed how loving and trusting he was from the moment we got him.
