This rare image was snapped up in Alaska’s Aleutian Islands. The male killer whale is approximately 25 to 30 foot long and weighs around 10,000 pounds. Its mostly white with muted yellow and brown areas covering its body.
A group of scientists spotted the whale while aboard the Oscar Dyson National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration research vessel. It is believed that this same animal has been seen once or twice before several years ago.
