Life’s A Beach

Let me tell you… There is no better place to be. The Outer Banks of North Carolina (OBX) call to me like a siren from the sea. I’m not a fan of spending hours on the beach, but there’s something that beckons me here year round. Things are different here. Calm, relaxed, time simply moves slower.

Sure it is busy this time of the year. The crowds scurry here and there; they are like sheep being chased by wolves. Do they ever take time to stop and look around? Beauty simply fills your eyes wherever you gaze. The beaches are plentiful, long and spacious. The clouds are endless and the wind simply never stops blowing (the Wright brothers can attest to that).

It’s nice here year round. We generally come here in the fall. I like it best when it’s desolate and void of the sheep. It’s even nice in the winter. It’s a rare treat to be able to see snow falling on the beach- sort of strange. At least this time of the year the pool is warm. Trust me the water is cold in October.

What’s that love? Spiced shrimp and crab cakes… that sounds great. I’ll be out of the hot tub in a few.

See Ya!
