The iPhone looks awesome, absolutely incredible. Do I want one? Hell Yes! Am I going to buy one? Hell No…
First and foremost I’m not going to leave my current cell service. I had AT&T a few years back and they were alright but nothing compared to my current provider Verizon. I don’t understand why Apple locked into it’s deal with AT&T.
Let’s say the iPhone was available to all carriers. Would I get one? Maybe. I already have an iPod (two actually). I really don’t care if my phone plays music. The rest of the phones features are amazing and I would use most of them especially the incredible built in Safari browser.
It’s simply too expensive. If you take the cheapest model iPhone ($499) and the cheapest AT&T iPhone monthly service plan ($59.99), the first year of having your iPhone will cost you $1218 plus tax.
Im sure my wife is happy that I have no plans to buy the iPhone. Im sure someone I know will get one and bring it in for show and tell. It’s seductive curves and magical abilities may force me into submission when I can actually touch it. Then again, Christmas is only five months away. I’ve been a good boy this year. Will Santa bring me a new iMac and iPhone? I don’t know if I was that good! 🙂
